The Nevada Gaming Commission has revealed that the state’s gambling market experienced a year-on-year revenue boost in the month of September.

The news was widely celebrated what with it coming on the back of a three-month decline.

With baccarat and blackjack proving central to the upturn, the revenue figure for September 2015 topped $916.3 million, an increase of 1.5% on the previous year.

Said good news is tempered by the fact that figures for 2015 as a whole are down 0.91% on 2014.

Elsewhere in Nevada gambling news, the state Gaming Commission has appointed former US District Judge Philip Pro to its board. Pro will take up the position left by Pat Mulroy, who quit the body to take on a new role with Wynn Resorts.

In an interview with igamingbusiness.com, Nevada Governor Brian Sandova explained that, “Judge Pro is a well-respected member of our community with a legal career that has spanned decades of growth in Nevada.

“I know he will serve with integrity and we are fortunate that he has accepted this new position.”
